CO-PRESIDENT

Rebecca Smith is currently serving as Co-President of APLD Oregon and a sales/designer at Blessing Landscapes, a design/build/maintenance company which services the Portland Metro Area. She has been in the landscape industry in one form or another since 2012, when she graduated from Portland Community College with her Landscape Design Degree. She has worked in various positions throughout the industry including nurseries, as a landscape maintenance technician and construction sales.

Her love of gardens as places for play, inspiration and rejuvenation is what motivates her to create enchanting spaces for her clients.

CO-PRESIDENT

Annie is serving as Co-President with Rebecca this year and will be stepping into the President role for 2027. With more than 30 years of experience, she creates dynamic, eco-sensitive landscapes. Her extensive background in installation has provided her with a diverse range of experience that informs and enhances her design capabilities. Prior to founding her own practice in 2013, she gained valuable expertise in estimating, building  and sales for prominent landscape companies in Portland.

A pioneer in her field, Annie was among the first female landscape contractors in Portland. In 2003, she earned her landscape contractor's license in all phases, including irrigation and backflow installation.

ANNIEBAM Landscape Solutions provides comprehensive design, build, and fine gardening services to a broad clientele. Her local portfolio spans from the Portland metropolitan area to the Oregon coast, and she has also designed and managed landscape projects in the South of France. PRESIDENT-ELECT

Jen Harrison joins the team as President-Elect this year. She is the owner of Frog Hop Garden Design Services. She designs spaces to feel balanced and peaceful. She wants your property to feel welcoming and usable by creating paths, patios, and covered structures to increase functionality. She loves creating plant palettes which offer a variety of colors and year round interest with a backbone of ecological health.

TREASURER

Becky currently serves as Treasurer and was immediate past President of APLD Oregon. She is the owner of Nuthatch Garden Design, located in Beaverton. She specializes in using native plants and climate-forward plants to create backyard ecosystems that support humans, pollinators, and our environment as a whole. For Becky, connecting clients more intimately to the plants, soil, and wildlife around them is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job.

Lynn Wolfstone is chair of the Sponsorship Committee. Her young life was spent outdoors, drawing, reading, building, planting and creating with parents and siblings. As a college student her studies focused on art and art history which led to gallery and museum work. A second degree in Landscape Design and Technology led to the establishment of Wolfstone Landscape Design.

Richell provides website, marketing and programming support for APLD Oregon. She is a landscape designer, sales associate, and social media manager at Blessing Landscapes. She also practices landscape design through her own company Living Mosaic Design Studio. With a background in interior design and architecture, Richell brings a holistic approach to her work, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces.

NEWSLETTER EDITOR

Peter serves as member-at-large and newsletter editor for APLD Oregon. Inspired by native plants ecological balance and beauty that evolved over millennia, Peter is the owner of Design Native Northwest, based in Portland.  With a background in habitat restoration and landscape design, he aims to increase awareness and appreciation for the cultural and ecological relationships between humans and the natural environment.  You can reach him at peter@designnativenorthwest.com.

EVENTS & PROGRAMS

Gil is the owner of Gil’s Northwest Native Garden Design, where he focuses on plant-forward landscapes that emphasize Pacific Northwest natives, pollinator habitat, and ecological function. He helps clients move their yards toward more sustainable, lower-input landscapes. His perspective on design is largely self-taught. Rachel joins the APLD Oregon team as our Graphics & Communications lead. She owned her owned & operated her own landscape design business for 12 years, inspired by a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces that encourage people to go outdoors & connect with nature. With decades of gardening experience using both native and ornamental plants in the Portland area, she enjoys designing landscapes that balance beauty with habitat for pollinators and wildlife. Rachel currently works as a Landscape Designer with Pacific Landscape Management.

Leah is passionate about connecting people to the natural world. She’s all about taking back lawn space for habitat, naturescaping, and creating outdoor living spaces that bring connection. 

Leah worked as an artist for many years while home raising her two boys.  Playing in her own garden led her to imagine a career where she could combine her love of art and plants. While taking classes in the Landscape Design program at PCC, she interned with Treecology on their street tree planting program, and got a taste for connecting people with the importance of plants.
